I am the one who is aggressively defiant. If I sense you controlling or manipulating me, even if I wanted to proceed to begin with, I resist because of your manipulation. I back away, even if it is not in my best interest, in effect backing myself off of a cliff. I react to you talking out your a$$. The ferocity of my resistance grows in proportion to how much you try to control me. I am the one who says, "You can't have me."
